Acme Corrugated Box smashes production record on BOBST flexo folder gluer

On June 24, 2017, Acme’s production crew achieved throughput of 186,439 boxes in an eight hour shift on a BOBST FFG 8.20 EXPERTLINE. According to President Bob Cohen, “We averaged about 23,350 pieces per hour for the shift on a machine whose rated speed is 24,000 pieces per hour! We were running at up to 98% of capacity, which is almost unheard of. With most machines that produce corrugated, if you run at 50 percent of the rated machine speed you’re usually pretty happy.

Bobst Group increases 2017 Sales

For 2017, Bobst Group SA is currently expecting a 4 to 6% sales increase compared to the CHF 1.447 billion achieved in 2016, and an operating result (EBIT) margin close to the minimum mid- to long term target of 8% of sales, compared to 7.2% in 2016. The net result will increase as well from CHF 84.3 million achieved in 2016, but will grow less than the operating result (EBIT). This outlook remains subject to market evolutions in the various geographies and currency fluctuations.

Bobst launches Speedpack

Bobst has recently confirmed the launch of Speedpack, an automatic packer for corrugated packaging which allows users to maximize the full potential of the Bobst folder-gluer lines. The machine increases productivity because of its highest possible number of batches per hour and short set-up times.

This is a result of the demand of the customers to be able to optimize their folder-gluers. 

The machine makes use of fluid operation, minimal footprint and optimal ergonomics and accessibility.

Grupo La Papelera installed Bobst equipment

Recently La Papelera extended its collection by two new highly automated BOBST machines, a 1228 NT five-color off-line flexo press and a MASTERCUT 2.1 cutting and creasing system. These are already allowing the company to increase productivity and expand their product range.
