FBA to conduct January How to Webinar on NAICS

Fibre Box Association (FBA) will provide a webinar on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 for members who want to know more about the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) and the process for submitting data. This webinar will be similar to one held in January 2016, and is a great refresher for both those making decisions on defining end use segments and those entering NAICS data. The webinar will provide opportunities for attendees to discuss topics and ask questions in an interactive format.

Progress continues in replacing waxed corrugated boxes

A new study shows continued progress in the replacement of traditional wax coatings on corrugated boxes. Since the introduction of the corrugated industry’s recyclability protocol in 2005, use of wax has steadily dropped off.  In 2016, the corrugated industry shipped less than 10 billion square feet of waxed boxes, just 2.5 percent of total shipments.
Wax coatings on boxes have been traditionally used as a moisture barrier to preserve the strength of a corrugated container holding wet or iced products such as fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, and seafood.

Order your industry produce brochure

The Fibre Box Association has published a new industry produce sales brochure.  The brochure has been designed to promote the benefits of corrugated packaging for use in fresh produce supply chains. Using colorful graphics and bullet points to quickly convey messages, the brochure’s inside panels speak to how users interact with corrugated products. Growers, shippers, packers, and others in the supply chain can count on corrugated packaging to protect, transport, and sell their product.  All we ask as an industry, is that boxes are recycled after use.
