Georgia-Pacific to build $100 million Talladega lumber mill

Georgia-Pacific is set to begin the immediate construction of a $100 million lumber production facility in Talladega. It is set to begin production in late 2018.

The new facility will employ more than 100 full-time employees and generate an annual estimated payroll of $5 million. It will also receive about 150 log trucks a day, and produce around 230 million board-feet of lumber each year.

Georgia-Pacific completes construction warehouse-distribution facility

Clayco has recently announced that it has completed the construction of Georgia-Pacific’s warehouse-distribution facility in University Park, Illinois.

The warehouse-distribution facility is a 1,000,560-square-foot distribution center and office space. It will be used for supplying paper goods for commercial and recreational use to Walmart and Costco, among other clients.

US court declines class action against containerboard makers

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to halt a class action lawsuit against some containerboard manufacturers. Said manufacturers, including including International Paper Co, Weyerhaeuser Co, and Georgia-Pacific LLC, now face trial on claims of price fixing by tens of thousands of buyers and nearly USD 12 billion.
